As a veteran of many types of sales and sales support positions, I am able to connect with numerous types of people and personalities. Through many presentations as technical expert, troubleshooter, and trainer, I have developed a keen understanding of people and what it takes to relate to each of them. This experience has proven very useful in persuading and influencing them.
I have also taken advanced training and am a graduate of the American Writers and Artist Institute's direct response course. (AWAI is the industry leader in copywriter's training.)
The wealth of my experience in production printing spans over forty years.
I have been personally involved in almost every print process and workflow currently in existence. During this period I have written extensively for just about every employer I have ever had.
I currently hold 14 technical certifications; from Apple (hardware/software), Microsoft
(networking, older OS), Idealliance (G7 expert level), CompTIA (A+) and more.
See below for the full list.
I subscribe to numerous daily, weekly, and monthly trade newsletters, from the healthcare equipment/software industry, in-plant printers, networking & administration, etc. In fact, I've lost count at this point.
Rest assured I am VERY in tune with the markets I support and the type of materials the industries distribute on a daily basis.
We write a wide variety of copy for the high tech sector - primarily B2B, but also B2C - including, but not limited to; direct mail, emails, blog posts, social media presence, ad copy, marketing campaign support, ghostwriting articles, speeches, tradeshow scripts, brochures, proposals, press releases, reviews, flyers, white papers, and annual reports.
We write and research grant opportunities for non-profits.
I, Christopher Reilley, head writer, am a former poet laureate, (Dedham, MA) my work has appeared in dozens of journals, anthologies, magazines and collections such as The Boston Literary Review, Sanctuary, Word Salad, Travel Noon Poetics, Muddy River, Thrush, and many more. I've been nominated for two Pushcart awards, my third collection was released in November of 2019.
When possible, we weave compelling stories into our copy. This writing style charges people emotionally and produces excellent results.
While we have thirty years of technical experience in the production print industry, our ability to translate complex engineering and workflow concepts into common vernacular using metaphor, simile and imagery is also well suited to the medical, IT infrastructure, and security technology industries, all of which we have some measure of experience.
We have been fortunate enough to work well with both agency creative directors, and directly with marketing managers and directors, a trend we hope will continue. We are eclectic enough to be very flexible.
Our past and current clients include Ricoh USA, Staples, Electronics for Imaging, (EFI) The UPS Stores, BigTable Publishing, The Cherry Valley/Rochdale Water District, Conalogix, Non profit performing groups, local municipalities, and KRAFT Industries.
On the technical level, I currently hold 14 technical certifications:
4 Microsoft
2 Apple (hardware/software)
Fiber Optic Installation
Computer Forensics
Adobe Creative Suite
G7 Expert Level (6 sub color certifications)
GBC Variable Data
Television Production
Video Editing
& the A+
I've been putting ink and toner on substrate since I was 6 in my family's wedding favor business, printing napkins, matchbooks, & ribbons.
I went to art school and clown college.
I have worked in almost every single aspect of print production imaginable, from burning newspaper printing plates, compositing pages with wax and razor blades, all the way to CTP color correction and high volume inkjet.
I've been writing almost as long. In over forty years I have written everything mentioned above, as well more technical items such as training manuals, technical guides, tutorials, presentations, customer expectation guides, analysis reports, field guides, curriculum guides, non-customer facing sales materials, and much more.
And that is just the writing. I got into the industry as an artist and designer. I was a beta tester for Adobe for over six years, so I am expert level in their programs. I have designed album covers and book covers, posters, logos, cartoons, infographics, and charts.
We do not charge for revisions within the scope of a project, which often has two revision cycles built in. Outside the scope of the normal cycle, We do charge a nominal fee for revisions. It is my intention that every client be fully satisfied before signing off, but
limiting revision cycles improves the process and avoids delays.
We like to think so. We consider ourselve flexible and accommodating, and we exert every effort to exceed expectations. We are NOT here to merely offer you written copy. We're here to provide well-written copy, on time, to spec, every time.
WE can certainly help with that. As I mentioned, I have extensive graphic, pre-press, and design experience, that was how I got into the print industry in the first place. I am expert level in the Adobe Creative Suite, and as a former color management expert, I sleep easy knowing my press files print as expected.
It is not currently the policy of the Bytesized Studio to formally recommend other vendors.
I break this down into specifics in the HOW I WRITE page. It will also depend on the size of the project and my current schedule of commitments.
However, I realize you can't always wait. So if your timeline is shorter, just let me know on the order form or when we talk, and we'll work it out. If we come to an agreement, I guarantee that you will have the copy by the deadline we agree to.
This is a lot having to do with my qualifications, you can find out more about me personally on my bio page.
